Ann-Margret Olsson (born April 28th, 1941), known mononymously as Ann-Margret, is an American-Swedish dancer, actress and singer. In her capacity as an actress, Ann-Margret is well-known for her roles in Bye Bye Birdie (1963), Viva Las Vegas (1964), The Cincinnati Kid (1965), Carnal Knowledge (1971), The Train Robbers (1973), Tommy (1975), The Villain (1979), Newsies (1992), Grumpy Old Men (1993), Grumpier Old Men (1995) and Going in Style (2017). She has been nominated to six Emmy Awards, two Academy Awards and two Grammy Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010 for her appearance on Law & Order: Special Victims unit. Her acting and singing careers have spanned six decades and began in 1961. Initially she was described as a female version of Elvis Presley. Her voice is sultry and lively, with a strong contralto voice. Her debut album was a modest success in the year 1961, and an album that charted in 1964. She had a major disco hit in 1979. In 2001, she released an album with gospel music which was praised by critics, and in 2004, an album of Christmas songs. Ann-Margret is not a mother, but she was the stepmother of three children of her husband Roger Smith, an actor who later became her manager. Smith and her were married from May 8, 1967 until his death on June 4 on the 4th of June, 2017. Prior to that, she dated Eddie Fisher[38and was romantically connected to Elvis Presley during the filming of Viva Las Vegas in 1964.
