Meredith Salenger Bio

Meredith Salenger is an actress and writer, producer, and activist, born and raised in Malibu, CA. She began her acting career professionally at 10 years old, playing an orphan who danced and sang in "Annie"(1982), directed by John Huston. When she was 14, she had starred in the leading role in "The Journey of Natty Gann" with John Cusack and Ray Wise (1985), which was the first American movie to win the gold prize at the Moscow Film Festival. Meredith was recognized as the "Best actress in Drama" at the Youth in Film Awards. This film showcased Meredith's stunning performance in the role of Natty Gann, who was a tomboyish character. After appearing in the teen film "Dream a Little Dream" alongside The Coreys and "A Night in Life of Jimmy Reardon" featuring River Phoenix and Matthew Perry The latter film starred Matthew Perry and River Phoenix. Meredith took a 4 year break before leaving Hollywood to attend Harvard where she graduated cum laude with a master's degree in Psychology. After returning to Hollywood, Meredith has been featured in TV comedies: opposite Steve Carrell in "H.U.D," "Chicks" alongside the same writers as Seinfeld. Meredith has appeared as a guest on "Will and Grace,"" "Anger Management" with Charlie Sheen, Happy!, and many others. Her dramatic roles on shows like 24: Dawson's Creek and Grey's Anatomy, Daredevil and Damages, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Cold Case, Close to Home), etc. They were all very enjoyable. Meredith was also in the cast with Bill Pullman and Brendan Gleeson in David Kelley’s “Lake Placidas well as Oliver Platt, Oliver Platt and Betty White. John Carpenter's"Village of the Damned" was also part of Meredith's filmography, as well as Christopher Reeves and Mark Hamill in a variety of Independent films. Meredith was then used as a character in Star Wars films like The Clone Wars, Rebels and The Force Awakens. You can also hear her voiceovers on The Secret Life of Pets 2. My Little Pony, Teen Titans Go to the Movies, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Robot Chicken, Lego DC Super Hero Girls, and many more. During all of these, Meredith got certified in Mediation through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law in 2009 and was able to successfully resolve more than 100 cases through the Los Angeles Superior courts. She wed comedian Patton Oswalt in 2017 and became a mother in a flash to the adorably mischievous Alice who is now her top person ever! In 2021, she has been producing and writing two series (a sitcom and an animated series) along with her writer partner Matt Boren and voicing many animated shows including Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. on HULU. (2021) She hosts a humorous podcast with her husband known as "Did You Receive My Text?"
