D'Elia was raised in Clifton (New Jersey) to a mother who is a printer and a father who is a lawyer. Her father is Italian, and her mother Jewish. She began acting when she was five years old and took ballet classes at Broadway Bound. At seventeen years old, she was cast as Bailey in her first major television role. She booked the role as Tea on MTV's adaptation of the British teen drama Skins in 2010. In it, she plays an openly-lesbian teenager. Hoodie Allen's music videos for "The Chase is On", she features her and plays Allen's lover interest. D'Elia started classes at The William Esper Studio and also got the role of Mina, Vicky Jewson's Born of War. This is her debut film role. D'Elia played Sage Spence from the sixth and last season of Gossip girl. Black-D'Elia is a New Jersey native who was raised and graduated from Clifton High School. Eleanor, Black-D'Elia's mother, works in printing. Anthony V.
