Tina Louise Biography

Tina Louise, born Tatiana Josivovna Cherrynova Blacker on the 11th of February 1934, is an American author and a singer. She is most well-known for her role as Ginger Grant, a CBS show that ran from 1964 to 1967. Her first appearance was on stage in the mid-1950s and then landed her breakout role in 1958 drama film God's Little Acre, for which she was awarded the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year.Louise was a star in a number of Hollywood films, including The Trap, The Hangman, Day of the Outlaw, and For Those Who Think Young. Louise then returned to film and appeared in The Wrecking Crew, The Happy Ending and The Stepford Wives.Tina Blacker was born to Jewish parents in New York City. According to one source, her birth name was Tatiana Josivovna Chernova Blacker. By the time she was four years of age, her parents had divorced. Tina was the sole child and was raised by Sylvia Horn (nee Myers) Her mother (1916-2011), who was a model. Tina's father, Joseph Blacker, was a candy store owner in Brooklyn and later became an accountant. The name "Louise" was allegedly added during her senior year in high school when she made a comment to her drama teacher that she was the only girl in her class who didn't have an middle name. He selected the name "Louise" and it stayed. She went to Miami University in Ohio.
