Jennifer Carpenter Bio

American actress Jennifer Leann Carpenter, born on December 7, 1979. She is well-known for her portrayal of Debra Morgan in Showtime's Dexter. She also won a Saturn Award for that show in 2009. Additionally she is famous for her role in Limitless, which featured Rebecca Harris. She was cast as Erica Shepherd, a leading part in the NBC drama The Enemy Within. Carpenter's performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose was the most talked about. Carpenter was awarded the 2006 MTV Movie Award "Best Frightened Performance" and a Hollywood Life Breakthrough Award. In 2006, at the Scream Awards, she was named "Breakout Actor". In 2007, she began dating her Dexter co-star Michael C. Hall. They got married in California on New Year's Day 2008. Hall and Carpenter announced in December of 2010 that they were filing for divorce following separation "for some while". They also made public appearances together at the Golden Globe Awards 66th edition in January of 2009. Carpenter and Seth Avett announced their engagement on February 10, 2015. In August 2015 it was discovered that Carpenter had given birth in May to a son. She also acknowledged that she was eight and a half months pregnant when shooting the pilot for Limitless. Carpenter and Avett married in May 2016.
