Deborah Rhea
Seehorn, born May 12, 1972, is an American actress. Her most well-known
character is the role of Kim Wexler, an attorney in AMC's Better Call Saul
(2015-2018), where she received two times the Satellite Award as Best
Supporting Actress for a series, Miniseries or Television Film. She has also
appeared in the NBC show Whitney (2011-2013) and ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004)
as well as TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn was
conceived in Norfolk, Virginia on May 12 1972. Her mother worked as an
executive assistant for the United States Navy, while her father was an agent
in the Naval Investigative Service; her family moved frequently throughout her
childhood, living in Washington, D.C. and Arizona as well as in Japan. Since
the age of a child she was encouraged by her grandfather and grandmother to
learn about drawing, painting and architecture. She continued to study the
visual arts, but she also had an interest in acting that was growing and was
introduced into contemporary theater during her college. She earned a
bachelor's degree in Studio Art from George Mason University in 1994. Seehorn
at the time of her college graduation she wanted to pursue a career in theatre
after being inspired by her acting professor. She attempted to make her mark
through various ancillary jobs in D.C. theater. She was able to get some
important roles in local theater productions. However, she was forced to do odd
jobs to earn a living. In order to pay for her expenses, she took on parts in
short industrial instructional films. Soon she began to be part of more
television productions. It was common for her to be compared to Bea Arthur, who
was described by her as "very funny," "sarcastic, and
knowing" women. These roles were often cancelled after only one or two
seasons. Seehorn was cast as Kim Wexler in the Breaking Bad prequel series
Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler, a lawyer as well as
the love interest of the main Jimmy McGill/Saul G. Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
