Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. Rita Sahatciu Ora was born in 1990 in Pristina (Kosovo) to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. She is a granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. At the age of one her family made the decision to move to the United Kingdom. She was raised in West London and attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court, following which she was accepted into Sylvia Young Theatre School and afterward, St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She began singing when she was a teenager. In 2004, she appeared in the British film Spivs. After a successful audition for Eurovision: Your Country is in need of You (BBC One), she was chosen to represent the UK in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She later pulled out of the competition after a number of episodes because she believed that the stage was not prepared. Ora released her first music in 2007 when she was featured on the song of Craig David titled "Awkward" followed by another appearance on "Where’s Your Love" featuring TinchyStryder. Ora started singing in bars in and around London and in 2009 a A&R told Roc Nation about Ora, just a few days following Ora took a flight to New York and met Jay-Z. Ora was featured in Jay-Z's 2009 music video for "Young Forever" as well as "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was impressed by Ora's talent and quickly signed her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was featured in a commercial about Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. She started singing from the same pub her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a pub owner and she began her singing career from the same pub. The actress is close to Kate Moss, and Ed Sheeran.
