Summer Bishil Bio

 Summer Bishil was a Pasadena, California native. She and her family moved out of the country when she was three. Summer was a student at American and British schools, while her family was living overseas. She returned to Pasadena just prior to her birthday, which was on 14th September. Passionate about the idea of acting since when she was just five years old, Summer took her first acting class at the age of 14. Nine months later, she was signed by an agent and an agent and started to pursue her dream full-time. She is currently pursuing her college degree in her free time. Was among the young celebrities featured in Vanity Fair's cover article, "Hollywood's New Wave: The Hottest Kids in Hollywood" in August 2008.Was named one of "Ten actors to Watch" by Variety (2007).Nominee for Best Actress - Spirit Award. At the age of 14, Bishil started acting classes. In just one year, she had been hired by an agency and manager. Her first appearance was on the brief-lived Nickelodeon show Just for Kicks, followed by appearances on other children's shows.Bishil's most memorable performance was as the lead in Alan Ball's film Towelhead in 2007, a film adaptation of the novel with the same name. Dana Stevens, a critic for Slate she said that Bishil's performance was "the most authentic thing" in the film, which had the best intentions, but, felt thoroughly fake and a little embarrassing. It was similar to an extended PSA concerning inappropriate touching. Bob Strauss writes for many Los Angeles newspapers and states that Bishil "...is the top natural film actresses of all time. Gary Goldstein, in a September 12, Los Angeles Times, review of Towelhead stated that Summer Bishil ("...newcomer) provides a compelling and captivating performance as Jasira. In 2009, she was a part of Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over movie starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd. Jay Reiner, Associated Press, appreciated her portrayal. She was selected to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan's 2010 film The Last Airbender, and was slated to be the focus of the planned , but never produced sequel.
